Back to the Eighties - Episode 103

Ep 103 finds Glenn and Phil (finally) discussing Transformers: Victory, and whether or not it was a worthy successor to the majesty of Masterforce. It also finds them talking lots and lots of inane crap, having a good old chinwag about superheroes and self-hating fans, and realising to their horror that yes, they're getting on in years now, the old twats that they are.

Oh yeah, and they report on all the news there. Even I keep having senior moments.

Get off my lawn.

Stardub EP 2.11 and 2.12 recording

We will be recording another two episodes of Stardub this weekend and as usual we are looking for content for regular feature Sh1ts and Googles.

Give us two random words for which Ralph will do a google search and we will talk about what it brings us.

No profanity. We make sure the safe search is on, as to be honest the results are far more interesting. Besides we are Scottish. We swear better than anyone else.

While we can't enforce this, don't do the search yourself beforehand, that would be daft and you might be disappointed if we don't look up the same link as yourself.

So if you want to partake of this then either leave a comment here or hit me up at twitter @andrewdturnbull - Ralph is @stardubbing or go to the Nerdsphere forum and leave a comment.

Back to the Eighties - Episode 102

Well, it's episode 102 of the podcast, and it's all a bit topsy-turvy. Y'see, it would normally be Joecon week, but as GI Joe is taking centre stage movie-wise this year, it's Botcon week a few months early!

So expect lots of Botcon news (although nothing as outstanding as in previous years) and marvel at the fact that Glenn and Phil manage to interject a lot of bitching about topics as diverse as wine collecting, fishing and the ending of Battlestar Galactica...

Back to the Eighties: Jer and Glenn Shoot the Shit - Episode 7

Jer and Glenn Assemble!

This week it gets all a bit special and spoilery, because Jer and Glenn have now seen the Avengers movie (or Marvel Avengers Assemble in the UK - Ralph Fiennes and Uma Thurman have a lot to answer for) and want to talk about it at length. So if you haven't seen it yet and want to keep spoiler-free, then don't listen to it yet!

You have been warned.

Listen to Episode 7 HERE, or subscribe on iTunes, or Stitcher (using the promo code EIGHTIES)

Stardub - 2.8: Of (Battle)tides and Twilight

Twilight – a film about vampires and chaste romance or cruel and unusual punishment? Lots of swearing and almost no debate follows.

Bot-Shots Optimus Prime and trailer get unboxed and assessed as Ralph once again moans about being bullied into buying Kre-O toys by Andy.

Our slavish devotion to Marvel UK and in particular Geoff Senior and Death’s Head means we find ourselves looking at Battlefield Easter Special and then takes us into talk about the Thundercats comic from Panini as we examine issue 1.

Shits and Googles sees us search for Marsupial Cottages and learn about Australian Megafauna.

Available now over at HERE or via the iTunes.

Stardub - 80.5: Regeneration One

It’s a special edition of Stardub.

Recorded on our titanic trip to the Death Fortress in Swindon. Our kind hosts Phil Ayres and his good lady wife Liz join us on the podcast along with Karl Thurgood, Nick aka Toy-Fu and Martin McVay.

We spend some time looking at Fisto from Masters of the Universe before turning our gaze towards Transformers: Regeneration One Issue 80.5 published by IDW and made available for Free Comic Book Day 2012 and the precursor to the continuation of the old school Marvel comic.

Available now at HERE or via iTunes.

It's episode 6 of STS! Jer and Glenn are joined by a guest this week, the good and noble Time Lord himself, as Jer continues his quest into better understanding a TV show which he's only discovered in the last few years; Doctor Who!
