[NEWS] Patrick Stewart given knighthood
Veteran actor Sir Patrick Stewart (Star Trek, Dune, X-Men) has received his knighthood from the Queen at Buckingham Palace. He has paid tribute to his former English teacher for giving him the encouragement to get into acting:
"Although many people in my life have had great influence on me, without this man none of it would have happened," Stewart, 69, was quoted in saying upon receiving his knighthood.
Sir Patrick also paid tribute to actors who inspired him during his formative years, including Sir Lawrence Olivier and Sir John Gielgud.

Well deserved!!
Is he really worth being knighted???? I really don't think he's all that big. If Connery knighted? He's way bigger a star than Stewart. Not to take anything away, he's great, but I think this is a weird thing. Maybe its the American in me!!!!
Yes, Connery is knighted, and rightfully so. And for me, it's because Stewart is amongst all else a damn fine theatrical actor and performer that I feel he deserves it. Not because he's been in Start Trek or big things, he works his arse off in his trade, and this is the highest of gradtitudes for him.
