Duncan from Stacebob and the Dweebs joins us again for the second of our Nineties specials, and this time we're talking about the comic book movie failures in the wake of Batman being released in 1989.
See, the movie studios all wanted another comic book movie hit, but weren't willing to spend the money to licence Marvel or DC characters, so they bought all of the pulp heroes of the 1930s to try and make it happen. We're focusing on the Rocketeer, Dick Tracy, The Phantom and The Shadow, and trying to figure out why they didn't catch on like Batman did. (SPOILER: Mainly because they weren't Batman.)
