Back to the Eighties - Episode 119

Phil's back this week, just in time for the guys to be joined by an extra special guest; comic colourist and soon-to-be superstar artist, Auto Assembly 2012 guest Sam Palmer! Together, they discuss your picks for a new TV show, packed full of your favourite 80s TV stars (and a skiing testicle-shaped being)! They also rummage around the news bin for the choicest cuts of news, before answering a question which brings up some painfully funny memories.

If Horace were to ski and no one was there to watch him, would the game still have sucked? Yes. Yes it would have.

RCP - Episode 145: Alcon 2012 Part 1 - Some Assembly Required (Parle Avengers Panel)

A few weeks back I was invited up to the last day of Alcon 2012 by my co-host Matty. In the end I managed to record two panels and yes I am kicking myself for not recording the charity auction where this happened.

The Old Oilhouse - Happy hour EP 13: Breaking The Walls

If we Podcasts have offended,
Think but this, and all is mended,
That you have but slumber'd here
While this audio did appear.
And this weak and idle theme,
No more yielding but a dream,
Listeners, do not reprehend:
If you pardon we will mend.
Else the Tricky a liar call.
Give me your toys, if we be friends,
And Gruffy shall restore amends.

Stardub - 2.18: Operation Manimal Silence

The resolution to the ongoing story-arc of Stardub Series 2 that you and half of the podcast team knew nothing about is upon you. A mystery package from friend of the podcast Little Philip Ayres is discussed at the start of the episode, before we talk about Quatermass 4 starring Sir John Mills and Simon MacCorkindale.

We then reveal the shocking truth of OPERATION: MANIMAL SILENCE perpetrated upon Andy by Phil, Ralph and a cast of almost a dozen. We then view and watch the pilot episode of MANIMAL, Ralph and Phil are hoping that this will shatter the childhood memories of Andy – who has ceaselessly proclaimed his love for the 8 episode slab of awesome that is Manimal. Will this experience be a sad one for Andy, or will it be victory for him once more?

Keep listening… Also – learn of the IP Ralph needs to own, if you can hear over the laughter of Andy

Back to the Eighties - Episode 118

This week, Glenn and Jii go to the seaside, specifically, Cockleshell Bay, where they have a great time building sandcastles and reminiscing about simpler, more innocent times. Then, it's back to Earth with a bump, because the depths of the toy news need to be plumbed (although considering the time of year, there's quite a bit of news about). After all that, it's time to take the train to Question Town, as we've got your questions that need answering!

I think that's about as far as I can go with the travel metaphor. If indeed that's what it is. It might be an allegory. It's not a similie, that's for sure.

My head hurts.

Jii joins Glenn and Phil this week, and he has tidings of great joy about a toyline for a TV character that you maybe wouldn't expect straight away...also in this week's offering, Phil talks about the little-seen-in-the-UK-but-seems-to-be-popular-in-the-US show 'Hunter', we try and scrounge up some news from somewhere (which is difficult, as there really does seem to be NONE), and we answer a couple of your questions.

Stardub - 2.16: Robocop: Dark Justice, I'd bury that for a dollar!

Travel back in time before last episode and in 2.15 we left you with a cliffhanger…

“Friend” of the show Little Philip Ayres has gifted us a Robocop DVD – Dark Justice. This is the ill-advised, ill-fated relaunch on TV via four movie length episodes. We review it, and do our best to keep faith in life. An Oxfam find is next up as we look at The Black Hole Pop Up book, which pop-up novelises the Disney film of the same name.

Back to the greatest era of comics – the 90′s with WildC.A.T.S issue 1 by Jim Lee and Brandon Choi, fresh off X-Men as upstart comic publisher Image Comics launch another successful property. Going back to the X-Men and the previous decade and we treat you to our thoughts of The Uncanny X-Men meet Obnoxio The Clown. They are not kind or clean thoughts.
