Back to the Eighties - Episode 352 - Pain Has A Face

It's Hallowe'en again, and to celebrate it this year, Leigh jumps across from the Nerva Beacon to discuss her favourite horror movie, Clive Barker's 1987 gamechanging movie, Hellraiser!

Please enjoy the episode, and everyone have a very happy Hallowe'en!

And remember, no tears, please. It's a waste of good suffering.

Back to the Eighties - Episode 351 - To Italia '90 And Beyond

It's all about football in the 90's this week, and joining us in the Tactics Truck is Pete D Gaskell from the mighty Smorgasbored podcast (even though he's a Man Utd fan). From Italia '90 to the Coca-Cola Cup, it's all here, the highs of England getting to a World Cup semi-final (imagine that!) to them not even getting to the World Cup Finals, and everything in between.

Including Man Utd's awesomely terrible grey kit.

Back to the Eighties - Justice For All - Episode 2 - Crisis? What Crisis?

Episode 2 of Justice For All sees Amy and Glenn tackling the small, tiny subject of one of the greatest, if not THE greatest event in not only DC's, but perhaps all of comic's history - Crisis On Infinite Earths!

They also discuss the DCEU (or Worlds of DC, if anyone's still calling it that) and try and figure out where it's going. Get it together, DC and WB!

Back to the Eighties - Episode 350 - Pulp Fiction Flops

Duncan from Stacebob and the Dweebs joins us again for the second of our Nineties specials, and this time we're talking about the comic book movie failures in the wake of Batman being released in 1989.

See, the movie studios all wanted another comic book movie hit, but weren't willing to spend the money to licence Marvel or DC characters, so they bought all of the pulp heroes of the 1930s to try and make it happen. We're focusing on the Rocketeer, Dick Tracy, The Phantom and The Shadow, and trying to figure out why they didn't catch on like Batman did. (SPOILER: Mainly because they weren't Batman.)

Back to the Eighties - Episode 349 - There Is Only War

Amy from Eccentric Earth joins us again this week, but this time it's different, because for the next month we're talking all about things from the Nineties, as we go BACK TO THE NINETIES!

To open, we're discussing the grim dark world of Warhammer 40,000, about how we came across it through games like Hero Quest and Space Crusade, and what draws to possibly THE most depressing sci-fantasy universe that's ever been created.

REPENT, brothers and sisters. For tomorrow, we PODCAST!

Back to the Eighties - The Nerva Beacon Podcast - Episode 19: The Lonely God

We've arrived at arguably still the most popular Doctor of the New Era, number Ten! THIS is the Doctor that RTD wanted from the start and it showed, as he kept all of the best stories for him, and Leigh and Glenn go through all of their favourite (and not-so-favourite) ones here!

They also catch up with all of the Doctor Who news coming out about the Series 11, and give their opinions on some of the contentious PR that's currently surrounding Doctor Who at the moment.
