Back to the Eighties - Episode 248 - Protect and Survive

This week it's all about the fear - fear of everything. We'll be taking a look at PIFs - Public Information Films - those mini horror films that were meant to instruct and help people not brain themselves on anything and everything, or not get fried by electricity susbstations, or be able to cross the road without getting turn over EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.

Join Glenn, Becca and Paula as they go through some of their favourites, and some that truly scarred them for life afterwards. Including the ones starring Dave Prowse.

SPLINK!

Back to the Eighties - Episode 248

Happy New Year, everyone!

In the great tradition of going back to work, we're easing into things here at BTTE Towers, so join Sam, Paula, Becca and Glenn as they tell us all what they got for Christmas, and then tell everyone what YOU got for Christmas.

As if that wasn't exciting enough, there's the small matter of talking about a certain Space Conflict movie that came out around the end of last year, they would have talked about it sooner, but everyone was losing their minds about spoilers...

...I wish I could remember the title of the movie. Something about the police force waking up, or something.

Back to the Eighties - Christmas Special 2015

Merry Christmas, gang!

And we're sorry. We're so, SO sorry. But it had to be done. With Star Wars and Christmas practicallly coinciding this year, we decided that we'd do a commentary of 1978's Star Wars Holiday Special.

This is the only audio that survived the event.

Happy Holidays, people.

Back to the Eighties - Episode 246 - Horror Beyond Imaginiation

It's nearly Episode VII time (2 sleeps in the UK!) so it's high time that we looked at the last of the original Star Wars trilogy movies, Return of the Jedi!

Join Glenn, Paula and Sam as they look into the history of the movie, at some of the trivia surrounding it, and share their personal memories of the movie.

They also look forward to the next installment of the Star Wars saga, as well as give their first thoughts on some of the new trailers hitting our screens such as TMNT, Independence Day, and appropriately enough, Star Trek Beyond!

Back to the Eighties - Episode 245 - Empire State of Mind

Glenn's back, and in the mood to talk some Star Wars!

This time, the gamg takes a look at the difficult second movie, The Empire Strikes Back, it's making, inception, the trivia surrounding the movie, and the reasons why it's generally considered to be the best of the bunch.

After the break, it's all about the prequels (no Rebels), and it would seem that life reflects art, as a Rebel Alliance who don't like them, strive to take on the evil Empire that does...

The Full Force - The Full Force - SERIES 2 - Episode 5

There's been an awakening…….Have you smelt it??!! With the new Star Wars movie just around the corner, the boys from the UK decided it would be a good idea to discuss the crossover between Star Wars and Action Force during the Palitoy years. Influences in toy design, marketing, advertising and variant figures lead the way with a review on the Palitoy Death Star and Action Force HQ. We also chat with Erich Ridlon and Erik Araña in regards to their Star Wars experiences at Hasbro and look at the future of both brands. As always we have the news and another ridiculous 'What We Got In' segment for a bumper edition of your favourite/not favourite podcast!!! Hopefully we will get you in the mood for the biggest movie event of the Millennium (Falcon), Jem 2: Pig in the City!! I'm kidding of course……FULL FORCE (AWAKENS)!!

Back to the Eighties - Episode 243 - I Have a Bad Feeling About This

A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away...

Yes folks, there's not long to go until Episode VII of the Star Wars saga is upon us, so here at BTTE Towers we thought it'd be a nice idea to go back, way back, to where it all began.

So let's all have a good look at Episode IV, shall we? To when Luke Skywalker was just a farm boy flying through Beggar's Canyon, Ben Kenobi was a crazy old wizard, Darth Vader had killed Anakin Skywalker, and R2 and 3PO were the narrators.

May the Force be with you. Always.

  Solidarité avec les paris.

Back to the Eighties - Episode 242 - The Most Wonderful Time of the Year

Yes folks, Christmas time is upon us again, and to start off this year's festive season, Jenny from World of Crap is with us to remind us that it's not always fun and frolics at Christmastime, sometimes you have to contend with things like the ALF Christmas, and as always, Bungle will have a strop in the Rainbow house! (Also, Paula finds out that George is a boy!)

There's also all the news that you'd want from your favourite franchises, and a question regarding everyone's favourite Masked Crusaders, so please, pull up a seat, and listen closely. Because next week, you may feel a certain stirring in the Force...
